The Procedure
Veneers in Dallas requires two visits to our office. During the first visit, we will perform a through evaluation, take x-rays, and impressions of your teeth, which are used to make your custom veneers. There are a few different options for the materials used to make veneers. We will fully explain your options and help you select the best material for your new veneers.
The types of veneers include:
- Porcelain
- Lumineers
- Resin composite
During the initial visit, a small layer of enamel is removed to prepare your teeth for the procedure. You may be given temporary veneers to wear until your permanent ones are ready. After the lab has finished making your veneers, you will return for the second visit. During this appointment, we check the size and color of the veneers to make sure everything looks good and then they are cemented to the teeth.
Caring for Your Veneers
Immediately after the procedure, it is normal to have a bit of soreness for the first few days. Pain medication may be used during this time and cold compresses. You will be advised to be careful about what you eat for the first few days and choose soft foods. After the initial process, you can keep your veneers looking great with good oral hygiene and regular dentist visits.
Most dental insurance does not provide a benefit for veneers, as the procedure is cosmetic. However, there are flexible financing options available for our patients. You can learn more about financing options on our website or contact our office.
